If you are going to post your cites, it is important that you adhere to a few guidelines in order to make the information useful and fair.

1.

DO NOT DISCLOSE FOR OTHERS

If you are going to post your 2NR strategies, it is important that you don't inadvertently disclose others arguments unless they wish for them to be disclosed. For example, if you debated John Smith and Suzy Jones from Happy Valley High School round 3 at Washburn Rural, and John and Suzy have not chosen to disclose, do not post your strategy as such:

Round 3 - Washburn Rural - Happy Valley Smith/Jones
1AC - xxxxxxxxxx
-Adv 1 - xxxxxxxxxx
-Adv 2 - xxxxxxxxxx

etc

Instead, just indicate the round and the tournament. You may still post what the affirmative was, just be sure not to indicate in any way who was running it.

2. Be sure to consult with your coach, partner, and other squad members with whom you might share evidence/arguments before posting citations. While you may be entirely happy to share such information, others on your squad may not want you to. It is your obligation not to post information and to respect their wishes.

3. Use headers properly and include a table of contents. This makes your page easier to navigate, and thus more helpful to the goal of democratizing information.

4. Be sure to format your page properly. Double check your page after you paste your information in to ensure that it is clear and the formatting from the word processor doesn't cause comprehension problems on the wiki. If you find this to be the case, either take the time to reformat in the wiki or simply dump in all of your information as plain text (done by copying the information from Word, into a plain text document such as Note pad, and then into the wiki) and then bolding tags through the wiki.

5. Please be timely about updating your wiki. While it may not be realistic to update your wiki between rounds or even overnight in the case of two-day tournaments, it is encouraged to upload whatever information you wish to share before the next tournament at which you plan to compete. Uploading all of your cites and 2NRs before state is only marginally useful, and undermines most of the purpose of participating.

Check this page regularly. It may update and include more information or requests that becomes apparent as the season continues.
